Hi Everyone
This is the new and improved me, I want to tell you all about it just in case anyone is having trouble sleeping and because thanks to the help and support I have received from you all I am now able to say I am new and improved.
Basically when I started lurking about this site I was nearly 63K in debt, as a result of you guys i am closer to 61 and a 1/2K in debt not massive reductions but for me that is fantastic. I have cut the household spending stopped using credit cards not used one since 31 dec 05 and i have to be honest i am a lot happier- yes i get cheesed off because i want to spend money and yes i get fed up of saying sorry no i cant i have no money, but i am actually more content with my life, it has changed me in other ways too such as I feel more confident about saying No to people and i feel less of a doormat if people annoy me know I tell them. My debt free date is 6 years and 7 months away but each day i get closer to it. I start my new job tomorrow which will double my earnings and allow me to contribute to the paying off of the debts I helped make. I only worked saturdays before know i will be 5 nights a week
I looked through our paperwork yesterday and was sorting out stuff for shredding and for the first time ever i actually read them properly credit card statements and bank statements - My god the money I have wasted on crap !!I can see exactly how i got to the stage i was at and i can see exactly what i need to not do to carry on my quest to financial freedom.
I was in town today and picked up a few things I could say i needed but i thought to myself actually you dont need them and you cant afford them so i put them down and walked out of the shop with a big smile thinking I CAN DO THIS.
I will of course continue to bore you all with my daft questions and ask for advice regularly and stick my two pennies worth in but i just want to thank you for your help advice ideas and most of all your honesty and support.
Cheers Guys and Girls XXXXXXXXXX

Well done you!
I know that feeling of putting things back- I wish Id learned to do it earlier in life! As I was sorting through all the stuff for my imminent car boot sale I was thinking, god, Ive never used this, Ive never needed it and Im probably still paying for it on the damn CCs! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0 -
