As a few know it is being repod and has a 14 day notice in the window. well today my wife has just caught 2 lads trying to break into it..she phoned the ea and they were round to fix it within half a hour...we think the problem was the 14 day notice in the window because EVERYONE who walked past noticed it so we asked the ea to take it down and they have...i wonder how many other repos are getting this treatment when there is a big sign in the window telling them to come on in and help yourself..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

You want to move to a nicer area Geoff:)
It would be nice to see the house geoff. Is it on rightmove?
I thought if they repoed all the goods were removed and the removal charge was added to the mortgage arrears.
Are they stealing the toilets and lighbulbs?0 -
Lots of copper piping, electical supplies and fixtures and fittings still left in a house, even after a repo.
One of the tragedies of reposessions, is that the bank throws out the previous owner, the property is left empty and can get damp, vandalised and stripped of its radiators, pipes, light fittings and switches and even wiring. While all this is going on, the price tumbles but the amount the original owner owes the bank goes up.
By the time the house is sold, it can be just a shell and virtually worthless. The person reposessed has to then make up the difference or go bankrupt.
Much better if the banks and government can keep people in their homes and help them get through the bad times - or at least give them breathing space to sell the house for a better price themselves.Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

Too true. My Dad had a house which sat empty for a while for various reasons, it got broken into and the perpertrators nicked the hot water cylinder.
In order to do this, they simply ripped it out and emptied the water all over the bathroom floor!
Just so they could take it away and make (at the time) about £7 scrap on it, presumably.
