I always think of it along these lines...."here is £100 to overpay. If I pay it now, I won't ever have to pay interest on that £100 again. And I've repaid the £100 as well". :rolleyes:
It's the compound interest that really makes a difference- as t'others have said, just have a look at the snowball effect. That's how I paid off my first mortgage in less than 11 years.
