I wana...new washing machine code?

Hi,
Our mil bought us a second hand wm when we moved into our new place, back in march-however it doesnt work properly as the power button is stuck and it doesnt heat up. It washes the clothes in freeeeeezing cold water...and the washing powder just cakes onto the clothes.

We really need to buy one,as dd is 4months and her clothes are just not clean enough.Having never bought one before, could do with someone pointing me in the (not so expensive) direction:D, any codes or free delivery would really help, thanks in advance!

    Hi
We are on the look out for a new washing machine as well. They all seem to be cold water fill only, this is supposed to be more economical, I have my doubts.
Anyway my wife is comparing our old washer to her mums 2 year old one, our final spin speed is only 1000rpm and her mums is 1600rpm, she says you can notice the differance, our clothes feel a lot wetter than her mums. So final spin speed is important.
Another point is on our old machine we can access a spin only cycle, where her mums machine will not let you, handy if you do some hand washing and want to give them a spin.
Makes and models I suppose is down to preferance and reading reviews.
Both Dixons and currys are doing free delivery, you need to check if there is a minimum spend to qualify. Also I think Currys are doing free disposal of old machine.
There is a code for Dixons 'WASHER4' this will deduct 4%, have not tried the code yet.
Dixons is worth a look, they seem to have an Easter special on at the moment.
I also gave Moneysupermarket.com a look and gave me a few good priced websites as well.
    I hope this helps.

Comparing my old machine and my current one (5 years old and counting) the one thing I still miss is being able to set the temperature separate to the wash cycle - I had one rotary switch for the temperature and one for the washing cycle. That way I could put it on delicates for something that needed slightly warmer wash, or put it on slightly warmer for a quick wash, etc etc.

    Definitely worth considering.

I also second the idea of a high spin speed. We do not have a tumble dryer (never wanted one after seeing clothes continually ruined) so we either dry the clothes on the airer inside or outside on the line. Very useful if they start off as dry as possible.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
