should i switch to the ONE ACCOUNT?

Hi this is my first post on this forum i was wondering if anyone out there knows if the one account is any good. Me and my wife have recently heard about the one account and thought it could be the way to pay our mortgage off quicker it seems to look good when we completed the mortgage shrinker.
Also does anyone know how easy it is to sort out all direct debits etc? thankyou very much for your help!

the one account is nothing special look at other offsets they do the same thing cheaper.
  • I used to have my mortgage with the one account and had no problems at all. The Mortgage Shrinker as displayed on their website, does really work.
However I did have a bit of a a nightmare switching over all my direct debits. I gave them a list of all my direct debits and they said they would transfer them over for me, however 6 weeks had went by and not all my direct debits had been switched over.

I've arranged this for a few clients, and advised them to switch their direct debits over themselves and they had no problems.

Have a look at the Coventry Building Society Offset, as I noticed they were doing a 3.99% deal (fee free) which is quite a bit lower than what the One Account are offering at the moment.

  • I have a One Account which I am just using as a current account since I sold my flat last year.

The One Account was brilliant until they were bought by RBS then their customer service went down the pan. I would definitely recommend offsetting. I now have quite a substantial amount of equity to put down on our next house but you do need to be disciplined. It wouldn't suit everyone. I wouldn't go with One Account now but there are plenty of other accounts out there. Have a look at IF, First Direct, Abbey. I think their rates may be better than One.
