Hello all
I still haven't managed to get any answer from Payroll/HR, but I doubt I need to now, as you have explained what's happened.
Apologies for being a dummy....... I didn't realise the subsidy was taxable! Oh well... going to have to check out the OS board and find some tips on how to live even more (!) furgally this month.

Shelley, your income seems extremely high to me: it is likely that you have unavoidable monthly expenses such as rent, mortgage, utilities etc. but do they use up all your income? Could you possibly start creating some reserves in case this happens again? Or worse yet, redundancy.
Are you paying for things that you really don't NEED? You could take this as a warning signal, and learn all possible lessons.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?
