Egg Money's Dead. Sort of...

I got an e-mail from Egg yesterday announcing the demise of Egg Money: Goodbye 4% interest on positive balances.

But instead of merging it with their Egg Card, which is a Visa card, they've announced a new product: Egg Money World Mastercard.

The lovely 1% cashback stays, but there's no interest at all on positive balances from mid-May.

Instead they're offering some "free" insurance policies:

Price protection,
Extended warranty, and
Loss/theft/damage cover.

It'll be interesting to read the small print (no, really!) for these policies to see what they actually cover.

It's not on their web site yet, so I suspect it isn't finalised and will be officially launched in May.

Egg Card Blue -> Egg Money -> Egg Money World
