Concern Growing Over Cake Toppers!!!!

Hi there

Please help me if you can!!!!

Has anybody used this company to purchase your wedding cake toppers?
http://www.claytoppers.co.uk/About.aspx.

It will be 3 weeks till our wedding on saturday. I e-mailed the women who is making them for us back in march to ask how everything was going and got a responce saying that she had been poorly and had only got back into her studio that week. She said that our toppers were nearly done and that she would e-mail some photo's to us of them a.s.a.p and that we should expect to recieve them in around 2 weeks time.
Well, here we now are, over a month later and i still have had no word from her.

She does say on her T&C's that she try's to post the orders out atleast 3 weeks before the wedding and that she uses a next day delivery service.

Do you think im just panicking over nothing or do you think there could be a problem.

Many thanx

SHe's had feed back left today and yesterday - both say things have just been delivered.

I would ring her and ask for the photo's and delivery date by the end of the day, in order to ensure she delivers around the 3 week before the wedding.

She should understand that brides are nervous wrecks.

Well it looks like she has started sending things out again. You should definitely contact her though to be sure and get a delivery date

Try not to worry about it too much - I'm sure she will have them to you in time

Thank you for your advice. I left a message on her answering machine, just to check that everything was ok. Her message said that they were closed for the bank holiday, so she mite be away at the moment.
Hopefully i will get a responce from her shortly

I use a wedding forum and a girl has been panicking over this- 2 days before her wedding, her cake topper still hadn't arrived. If I was you, I'd be on to this company most days until you get it. Sorry I couldn't report happier news but I'd rather you know so you can get an alternative if necessary.

Edited to say that another girl on there has just had hers for her June wedding and it looks great. She did say that the lady who does them is a bit of a nightmare to get hold of though.

Her website is quite vague - not professional at all. Check this out in her T&C's...

ClayToppers is a part-time business, and as such, no times of availability can be guaranteed for answering telephones, instant messages or e-mail messages. Also, due to the nature of hand crafting using clay, it is a challenge to keep the phone clean and the topper being produced clear from contamination at the same time! The current solution to this issue is for customers to leave a message and wait patiently for a response

Patiently! She isn't your mother telling you to calm down!

Here is an alternative for those of you considering cake toppers. I know this lady and she has been doing this for a few years now and has quite a following. I believe she is fully booked though for 2009. http://www.featsofclay.co.uk/

Well they are handmade so thats what you are paying for, I know that she does about 3 per week but for eg the one with the sail boat took 4 days to make. There are not too many people that do them and I know that she has helped out a few people that have had problems with their cake toppers not arriving etc. She has got three children though so she has had to limit it to a max of three a week or the kids wouldn't get a look in. I know she gets about 30 enquiries a day as her work has been featured in Hello when she did one for Emma Griffiths and Matt Willis. She is also featured in some wedding magazines.

    Hi there guys.
Just to let you all know i had a responce from the lady today. She tried ringing our house phone and we were not in, so rang my mobile. Unfortunatley i was walking home, so did'nt hear it ringing, but she did leave a message.
She basically said that there was nothing to worry about and that she had been away over the bank holiday. She had only got back into the office today. She did say she had sent me an e-mail with the pics of the toppers on, but i have not recieved that, so im not sure what happend to it.
I left her a message to tell her that and i am going to e-mail her again to ake sure she has my coerrect e-mail address.
I think i can officially stop panicking. Im more than happy with her response, considering she tried both my home and mobile phone. Ill let you all know when i recieve the pics

Thank you for all your responces
