Charge against my property

Hi
I am currently trying to remortgage my property (due to an ending deal) but I have a charge on my property which is stopping this from happening due to the LTV. Do these have to be paid off whilst just remortgaging & not selling the property? If not is there anyway that these can be taken off if I make a repayment plan with the debt company? Many Thanks
