The School Governance (Constitution) (England) Regulations 2007:
Bankruptcy
6. A person is disqualified from holding or continuing to hold office as a governor of a school if— (a) his estate has been sequestrated and the sequestration has not been discharged, annulled or reduced; or (b) he is the subject of a bankruptcy restrictions order or an interim order.0 -
For reference the previous (2003) regulations stated:A person disqualified from holding or continuing to hold office as a governor of a school if – (a) he has been adjudged bankrupt or sequestration of his estate has been awarded and (in either case) he has not been discharged and the bankruptcy order has not been annulled or rescinded; or (b) he has made a composition or arrangement with, or granted a trust deed for, his creditors and has not been discharged in respect of it.
This was superceded by the less restrictive 2007 regulations as posted above. As far as I know the regs regarding bankruptcy haven't changed since 2007?0
