Equifax...

Okay.. can someone explain (as I'm being thick!!) under Credit Agreements where it has "number of accounts" current is that meant to reflect the number of credit ties?? (that they are aware off??)

And Pervious search is how many credit checks you have?

So if your agreements got up.. but not your searches.. they didn't run a check on on??? But when you apply for credit they can see how many "agreements" you have and how many previous "searches?"..

Sorry..just trying to get it right inmy head??!!

Thx

Sara

Sara, this is how I understand it...

'number of accounts' is the number of accounts you have or have had, usually in the last 6 years. This includes settled accounts. Note that upping your credit limit on a credit card usually results in the old card acount being settled and a new card account being opened.

'previous searches' is the number of searches you have had done, usually in the last 12 months. Not all of these are available to new lenders to see. EG ID checks, address verifications.

As 'number of accounts' are held on your file for longer than number of 'previous searches', this explains how they can get out of synch and become disproportionate

Also, the RBS search may be for your mint card (mint are part of RBS group)
Also, lenders are not obliged to provide information to CRAs
