Good Morning People,

I hope this is the right part of the forum for this:

I checked my bank account for my wages yesterday and noticed they were £100 down, so after looking on my online payslips i noticed my tax code has changed from a 609L to a 0010L A, can anyone advise me what this new code is?? Wondering why im short on my wages aswell.

You should have received a notice of codng showing how this new code was made up. If you have not done so, you need to ring your tax office and ask them for a duplicate. We cannot possibly know why you have this code without knowing the details.

Instead of having £6095 tax free allowances (code 609L) you now only have £105 (code 0010L). This means you will pay more tax each month hence why your wages are down.

You should have received a coding notice to explain your 0010L code - have you? It could be a number of things such as owing tax or taxable benefits from work.
