I know its a bit extreme but have you thought of selling the house pay off
all your debts, bank the money and rent for a while until you get back on your feet?

I know prices are low atm but its better than losing everything?

    Hi Silverlining,

I was in a position very similar to yourself when we had our second child.I decided that it was best for me to go back to work and let the hubby get an evening job in a warehouse. We didn't see alot of each other but we didn't have to pay any childcare costs and I was back earning again.
Have you thought about going back to work sooner. Sorry if I have missed a post about how old your baby is. This may not be relevant if they are quite young. My DD was only 3 months when i went back. I made the promise to sort out my financial mess though before I have another child.
  • I have contacted the CCCS and am waiting a call back.

Also I have already notified my creditors with recorded delivery letters explaining my circumstances and sent off incomings/outgoings and said I have not got money to pay. Some have responded saying the usual you need to pay more malarky and others have said they will take it further with CCJs and courts. TBH, Im not bothered anymore, if they want to do that then fine, I would rather a judge tell me how much to pay than some person in an call office. I know I shouldnt have that attitude, but my main concern atm is how am I going to eat and where is my babies next pack of nappies are coming from. Even that is a tricky one, if I go for terry toweling, I havent got money to wash them properly so would rather just stick with disposables.

Some good-ish news, I have today received a list of charges I was charged from my bank, they total to £495+ without interest so at least once I have claimed that back, that will come off my total for debt :D
I will have to do one a month
Bank Charges = Cahoot bank account refunded £1640 asked for £1871 / Barclaycard refunded £480 asked for £480 Black Horse PPI refunded £797 asked for £797
