You know, I'm not really sure.

What I do know is that I suddenly have a weird, subliminal urge to buy a cheap, large, American-style fridge freezer.

    Oh, hang on, wait...

That's right, it's just the advertising in your signature making me think that. Panic over.

Yes, we've had links to London prices drops.

Where abouts in London and what sort of property are you interested in? Maybe someone can pull something interesting up via Property Bee :)

I won't be able to afford anything for a few years as only on £27k just wondering if they might start to go down at all.

Ideally would be north or east London not too far out and just a one bedder but preferably not on a council estate.

one bed, newbuild flats have shown generally greatest drops of all I believe. :)

are you saving now? I am not of the opinion that prices are going to 'shoot up' quickly int he near future, but when things are better it will be too late to start saving :) to maximise the opportunity.

No not saving, can't afford it after rent.

Its not easy in London on £27k. I agree. How much do you pay in rent? Are you flat-sharing? Are you a key worker?

£600 per month plus bills for room in flatshare. Bargain

    Not key worker.

OK, well, I think you can do a wee bit better than that, if it is a priority to save rather than stay where you are :) MY DH lodges, because it suits us, but if you don't want to lodge flat shares ARE available cheaper. FWIW Zone 3 (just with a rail link that makes it quicker than zone 2 and tube) DH is paying £400 pcm inclusive.

:) It IS hard, I'm not going to pretend it isn't, but it is possible. If you could just save a little, lock it away and let it build: if in the end you decide to keep renting, so be it: you hve a nice pot for something else
