Stressing that our celebrant has not returned any of our recent emails, stressing that none of the people we asked to do readings will say yes, stressing about keeping divorced parents happy, stressing that my IBS will flare up on the day (and yeah, stressing about that really helps!), stressing that my mum will be well enough to enjoy herself (she has ME)...

Of course even if all these things do go wrong, as long as we said the right things and signed the right bits of paper that's what really matters.
Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!
  • I'm getting married 3 weeks Saturday.

I have been fine up until now and still am as far as the wedding is concerned however IN LAW FAMILY are stressing me out.

They moan about so and so saying how this and that is none of their business but then quick enough to stick their own oar in!!!!!

Moan that they are not involved (more like cause i wont let them have their own way) but when you ask if they would like to do something they dont want to and then moan about seating plan but the people they are moaning on behalf of are happy with it!!!

They expect me to arrange mini buses for their family but then when OH tells them I have enough to do and they should do it themselves turn around and say they never asked me to

Oh and bragging to everyone that they have bought a far better present - like thats the most important bit of the day

I feel so much better now !! Thanks xxxx

stressing that none of the people we asked to do readings will say yes, They will most likely be honoured to be asked, if not you just ask someone else x
stressing about keeping divorced parents happy You will never win on that one, just keep them apart, but keep talking to them both about arrangements,
stressing that my IBS will flare up on the day (and yeah, stressing about that really helps!),won't stressing make that worse in the run up?
stressing that my mum will be well enough to enjoy herself (she has ME)...All you can do is hope that she is. Worrying won't make things any better for either of you xx

Of course even if all these things do go wrong, as long as we said the right things and signed the right bits of paper that's what really matters.

Try not to worry about things that you can't do much about. Concentrate on the things you do have control of and you will feel more relaxed

Is that you in your avatar?? I'm guessing it is. Anyone who has the courage to let a whole forum see their pic should have enough self esteem to know she is going to look amazing on her wedding day.

You will have perfect makeup, hair and a beautiful outfit - you will look the most fantastic you ever will in your life.

    And that goes for everyone!!!:j

Thanks Louise! I'll give the celebrant another day or two and then call her, she goes off to France for long stretches I think. With the readings, this sounds awful, but we're kind of on our last hopes with them (well, without asking people who would be hopeless or are only 2 years old!), I'm sure we'll find some way round it!

Yes, IBS does get worse if you stress, it's a vicious cycle, will have to eat REALLY well and healthily for the next few weeks. As for my mum, I hope adrenaline helps out! She's not housebound or anything but this will be the furthest she's travelled for a year, I know she'll make the ceremony, I just hope she manages as much of the rest of the day as possible.

You're right, I'll keep remembering everything I'm in control of - which is fortunately most things! x
