Hi All,
I was just wondering what size wedding cake people will or have had for their wedding? and how many guests this will be for?
I need some ideas as i am making my sisters wedding cake which she wants three tiers all different sponges for about 50-60 guests.
Any advice much appreciated thanks in advance, Charlotte x

even a small 3 tiered cake will feed that many people. see link below, i generally use these measurements for my cakes. you get less portions from sponge cakes than you do from fruit cakes just because fruit cake is richer and so sliced smaller.

This might not be helpful but with my friends/relatives I find I need more cake than the portions say, but we are all greedy! Never had a wedding cake tho...0

Thanks everyone,
Angbrads that gives me a good idea! will prob follow that small 3 tier idea.
Svjenni thats the cake i'm following i just think i should make it smaller! i'm not doing the fruit cake on top, they are having just a plain sponge for the top tier.
roxalana your right i want to make sure i have more cake than guests but i forgot to mention 17 of them are children, so was thinking of doing a load of cupcakes as well for the children, what do you all think?
debs2327 you make sure you put your foot down! lol i have discussed this with my sister and partner all the way so hopefully it will turn out exactly as they want it.
It also turns out that someone else is making a big fruit cake for those that want it! So i def will follow Angbrads link. Thank you everyone, charlotte x0 -
