:T LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT,been looking through these threads and they are fantastic, reminds me of talking to long passed grandmother of how they made do using everything and not throwing away what may become useful at a later date.
Im afraid im a horder not too serious but certain things are stored just in case
birthday paper and cards are kept as my youngest daughter is a fan of scrapbooking, making her own cards, collages, anything along the lines of paper craft.
im an S/Em artist (and full time kitchen assistant) and at the moment im experimenting with paper mache using paper shreddings soaking then liquidising to make a pulp which then you mix with glue to make a type of paper clay or if i have huge amounts i put them in my compost.
and when it comes to cooking at the end of the month when things are a bit tight and the stores are filled with random ingrediants i throw them together usually with mashed potato add some spice and herbs and bake until golden.
iM GOOD WITH ROAST CHICKEN after your roast sometimes you have bits of meat still on the carcass i put the chicken in a pan cover with water and simmer for a few hours let it cool drain of the liquid into a container and keep then remove the rest of the meat feed the skin and other soft stuff to the dog and cats put the liqiud and meat back in the pan add loads of veg and potatoes and youve got chicken soup which you can freeze for future meals or you can blitz the soup and add some milk and youve got creamy chic soup.
Or when you are simmering the chicken let it cook for a longer time to reduce the liquid and just save the stock for other soups you only need a bit of stock as it is quite tasty so it lasts for some time in the freezer.

god i didnt mean to write an epic but i really hate waste.
Don't like processed food even though sometimes its much quicker.
but cooking a meal of veg and meat/fish takes the same time to cook a deep pan pizza. healthier & cheaper
better get off my soap box sorry to go on :D whistle:

storing stuff, well we did have a kitchen/diner but now in the dining bit we put up a workbench that runs the width of the kitchenand ive got those wheelie storage carts with draws, i keep those thick plastic shirt bags with the popper tops to keep bits of paper and stuff in, my daughter brought home a piece of broken china which had a pattern she thought i would like so ive bluetacked it to the kitchen tiles its been there for 2 years now maybe ill use it in a piece of work one day, also lots of ikea wooden storage draws all with labels on the front, anything large usually ends up at my mums, in her garage.
I would like to convert the attic with proper floorboards and shelving and a loft ladder would be good, but the other half just looks at me with dispair and shakes his head, he will relent one day, still working on it!!
