Free Cookbook for spending 87p in M&S

Hello Everyone :D

I felt I had to tell you about a little loophole I came across yesterday in my local M&S (As well as a meal deal for £2)!

Browsing the 'ingredients' section, I saw they had an offer on whereby if you buy any 3 items from the ingredients range, you got a free cookbook. The cheapest item was a 29p bag of batter mix, so guess what, I took three bags to the checkout along with my book and got the book for free.

It is a very nice book and would make either a nice gift or could be added to your kitchen bookshelf - I also have my yorkshire pudding mix for the next 3 Sunday lunches too ;)

Happy shopping,
Angela

It is full-sized, roughly A4 with about 95 pages with Quick and Easy; Weekend Cooking; Puddings and Deserts and Baking sections.

hi, just thought i would let you know i went into M and S last night as a result of seeing your post and bought three packs of batter mix for 87 pence and got the cook book, it didnt go through as a freebie at first but after getting a supervisor he voided the book and i got it for free.

if you are planning to do this you may be advised to get in quick as i think they might be getting wise to the fact that people are doing this

    very nice book though

I went to get this book and batter mix and thought I'd use the self scan tills, this didn't work - it didn't take the £5 off. I pressed the "help" button on the machine and no one came, so I asked a SA to help and she went off to the other end of the shop to check the offer where the products were. When she came back she said I'll take you to one fo the tills as it's not working here.

I went to the till and they tried it, the next SA went off to check .. She came back with the ticket and tried again, no joy. Phoned a manager who wanted to check I had the right book :rotfl:and three of the items  and then I think she tried to tell the SA the batter mix was not in the promotion as the SA was having to keep repeating but I am holding the ticket from the shelf in my hand and it quite clearly says it is :rotfl:

This went on for a while and then they decided to scan the batter mix but not the book, but let me have the book :T Thanks Op :T

M&S have now revised this and have changed the items which count - the cheapest I found was Soy Sauce for 79p a bottle. But all the sugars (99p 500g) are included so I got some sugar too...

Warning - I picked up 6 different items which counted, so chose two cook books but ONLY ONE OFFER WENT THROUGH. I have to be refunded for the second cook book as the till couldnt cope with two of the offer going through at the same time - checkyour receipts if you want more than one.
