I have decided I don,t like the wedding invitation and other blanks I have bought:o and am going to start from scratch and make them myself.
I fancy using fabric so to get the invitations to match the wedding colours I will use the deep plum silk used for my dress  and can use some little jewels, beads and purple pearls that sil is using for my wedding jewellery.
I want to send the invites with other info such as accomodation info and reply cards too to so basically I am looking for ideas for a pocket folder type invitation.
I could use white watercolour paper or starched linen for the insets.
Need ideas of how to put it all together now that I have the fabric, pearls etc .

We recently received an invite that was made of ivory card, opened down the centre like a "u" with each "flap" being half the width of the "bottom" and was tied with black ribbon (colours for the day). Inside was the printed insert. I guess you could use a similar idea for your folders......0

Hi there, i bought card blanks with envelopes fom Ebay for £3.50ish for 50, and also some hammered ivory inserts to go through the printer. I downloaded a font from the net for free which was Scriptina. I found a template for the inserts which made it heaps easier to print out. For the decoration I went to the photo shop and got 50 copies of a red rose with a black and white background printed on glossy photo paper, I think it cost about £7, but you could do this online really cheaply if you do a search on MSE for free/cheap photo printing. I then bought some stick on diamantes and put 3 on the bottom corner under the photo. If you want any info please feel free to pm me. I am chuffed with mine and do think they are more special handmade.

you could make little bags for the invitations to go in, like large version of favour bags, then you could make matching favour bags!0
