Not sure how it works, but from what i have been told in the past, as long as you declare it before you start working the benefits, will arrange this to fit around your Gov payments.

If i was you i would:-

Call all departments that pay you and let them know what you have been offered.

Make sure you remind them of the fact that the pay IS monthly.
I was under the understanding anyone on benefits could work up 16 hours per week before that take any action of removing pay, from what your entitled to! But dont quote me on that as it might have changed since.

Its only a £0.30p telephone call you make sure your in the clear BEFORE acting on it!

    Hope this helps!

I'm not sure about HB, but the earnings disregard for IS is £20 per week, ie if you earn up to £20 it does not affect your benefit after this it is deducted penny for penny, so for example if you earned £22.50 per week your Is would be reduced by £2.50. If the normal meathod of payment is monthly then the wage is averaged to give a weekly amount.

For CT and HB they work it out based on your total weekly (or monthly) income so the extra £20 a week would be counted but as it is such a low amount it is unlikly to effect the benefit and if it does, it may only go down slightly, but best to ring them up, or most councils have an online estimater so you can see if the amount will change.
