Tips on selling your wedding dress...

Hello all,

I had a gorgeous dress made for my big day, and didn't end up wearing it as I was 5 months pregnant and had to buy a maternity dress. I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on how I would go about selling it. I've tried the eBay route to no avail, and have also put an ad on Gumtree. The biggest problem is that I just can't take good enough photos of this dress, and the ones I do have don't do it the justice it deserves.

Any ideas??

Many thanks

A good picture will definately help - maybe get someone to wear it while you photograph it or add an extra picture of the dress from the designers site.....
There are a few sites that specialise in wedding dress selling. Try http://www.preloved.co.uk

  • Hi

I ma having a similar problem. I want to get some money back for my dress but I think that with ebay there are just so many sellers it will get missed.

Can't really suggest where to advertise but could you get someone to wear the dress for you or you could wear it (not sure if still pregnant sorry)? I think seeing it actually being worn makes a dress come to life that you just can't get by taking a photo of it on a dressmakers dummy or hanging from a hanger.

Will be keeping an eye on this thread as to where best to advertise my dress!

Thanks guys, I think my best bet is going to be finding a size 8 model to wear it for me and let me take pics... where to find one though ;0)

Do you not have any friends that could wear it in your garden in daylight so that the light is good?
