I need a car booster seat

For a 3 year old. Need the 3 to 11 yr old seat, and I'm having a hard time finding a "cheap" one. The cheapest I've found so far is £21.99 plus £8.50 shipping. Does anyone know of any cheaper ones. Sorry if I come across as stingy, but we've just immigrated and the cost of purchasing a whole household again is astronomical. I'd appreciate any help offered, thanks.

He's too small to use just a booster seat, needs one that you can take apart, also one with a 5 point harness as his middle name is Houdini!!! Cheap and escape proof, am I asking too much :D

Check out https://www.kiddicare.com - they often have good offers on car seats, plus they seem to get new stock in on a regular basis, so you never know what you might find.

I must say, however, that £20-odd is extremely cheap for a car seat to last from 3-11 yrs old. If you only pay for something that is cheap, it's likely you won't be getting the best protection for your little one. Some car seats in the updated Which? Car Seat tests performed appallingly in their crash tests (this included both cheap and expensive seats). I know that you don't want to spend a huge amount, but it might be better to invest in something more expensive - after all, it's got to last you until he's 11, so it's going to be in your car for quite some time to come.

btw, I hope I haven't offended you with my thoughts on this, that's not my intention. Since becoming a mum myself, I'm extra-cautious about these sorts of things.

Hi, I bought a cheap one from Argos (Baby-Start Kombi at £17.49) but after only one journey realised it was a false economy! Because of the design the seat-belt ended up practically on my wee one's face and the two chunks of polystyrene that it consisted of did not inspire confidence.

Took it back and swapped for the Graco Junior Hi-Back Booster (£39.99) which has side headrests (great for the odd nap), much better seat-belt control and cup holders (not essential but the kids love them!!).

It might seem like a lot to spend just now but a more robust, expensive model will last longer.
