Hi
Im looking for a joke present for my Sisters Birthday coming up. We always get something nice and one or two joke presents.
Now, no offence to anyone who has got these, but where can I buy Doileys from?
You know the type that go on the back of chairs, and on arm rests, and dining tables etc.
Ive tried a few local Charity shops, but couldnt find any. Any help would be gratefully(sp) received.
Many thanks

Do you mean doilies that go on plates, or antimacasssars (cotton lace/fabric) which were designed to protect areas of furniture from excess wear?0

My mum bought some recently think it was from Rosebys. Also if you have a Chiltern Mills near you I think they sell them. Check out the bed linen shopsNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

Paper doilies can often be found in stationers.
Also check ebay. I put in doily for search, uk only, add shop inventory, under £5 and there were 330 entries - including pirate skull and crossbones paper doilies which has seriously tempted me! There were both cloth and paper doilies and new and antique.
Ebay is, sadly, my friend.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Yeah, I meant the ones to protect furniture, didnt know they were called something different.
Im off to look at Ebay now
Thanks everyone.I know my spelling is shocking  It is alot better than it used to be though :rotfl:0 -
I think any small independent shop that sells curtains, cushions, fabrics, (are they habadasharies???) might sell them, our ones do.
My gran uses them all the time, and I actually think they're a good idea, although not the lacy type things, but I have old strips of fleecy blankets protecting the tops of my sofas. Mind you, I've got 3 cats who snooze all day there, and are intent in shedding all their fur on them.0
