I think it's when you've had a default or judement against you, but have now paid it off.
When I went to court in dispute over a leccy bill and lost, when i had paid it, it was makred satisfied on my file.
It then stays there for six years, and then it goes away
Edited to add: I was 30 last year and your 30s are fab!!! Don;t be scared! I'm really enjoying mine.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Thanks.
So that means that any that say "satisfied" HAVE been paid?
How do I make corrections to one that has a default with a balance outstanding which I paid? (incidentally it is the same as another company which has a satisfactory history and they were both cleared at the same time!)
Regards turning 30 - I know deep down it won't be that scary - it is just that I will have to start acting like a grown up

I'm not sure who you'd need to notify for that - can Experian advise you?:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Hello!
Until recently I worked in a county court as a bailiff's clerk and bankruptcy clerk (yes yes...the irony!)
If a debt is marked as 'satisfied' on your credit file it means that you have a CCJ registered against you but that the debt has been paid in full later than 1 month after the date of judgment. It will stay on your file for 6 years.
If you are not sure what the debt is for then your credit record should show the court of judgment. Give them a call, quoting the claim number (which should also be on your file) and they can dig out the case file and let you know. Unless they have lost it. Which happens. A lot.
Oh yeah and if you have a CCJ registered against you which you know you have paid you need to contact the court of judgment. You need to send tham proof that the debt is paid in full and pay a £10 fee to the court (unless gone up in last year!). If the debt was paid in full before one month had elapsed after judgment was entered you need to ask for a Certificate of Cancellation. The Registry Trust will remove the CCJ from your credit file. If paid after one month of the judgment date then you need to ask for a Certificate of Satisfaction; the Registry Trust will mark the debt as 'satisfied'.
If you do not have proof of payment you can ask the court to write to the creditor stating that you are applying for a Certificate of Cancellation/Satisfaction and that if they do not respond within (I think) one month then the court will go ahead and issue it to you. Always worth asking for a Cert of Cancellation cos worst that can happen is that creditor replies and says 'No actually, only 'Satisfied' cos paid after one month. If no response from creditor you automatically get the debt wiped - nice!
Sorry to witter on, hope this makes sense!

They send you a special "you are now offically almost halfway to death" pack, with stick-on wrinkle-inducers to ensure you look your age, and badge to wear in the pub which says "Please don't buy me a drink, I an no longer cope with more than two glasses of wine without behaving like a fool'!!!

glad you spotted it was tongue in cheek reply skintchick !!
Yes now I am in my thirties I am certainly more grown up than in my twenties but I do still have my occasional moments of sillyness......
I agree your thirties is a good age / decade as you are more chilled out than in your twenties / and know your self a bit better and care less what other people think about you...ie you are less of a fashion slave or wanting to be liked by every one or affected by peer pressure so much....
though you do tend to get a bit more "sensible" in your thirties so it is good to be silly every now and again !!!!!!!!!!0
