Hiya
Anyone any idea where the best place would be to buy decent timber? I want to do some raised beds in the garden for my veg as my allotment recently got ransacked by hooligans and I'm thinking of giving up the plot after this season. I'm near Lisburn so anywhere around there or Belfast would be handy.
Thanks for any help

Have you tried asking on freecycle or at any local merchants to see if they have any scrap lying round?0

Hi arkonite, thanks for your reply :hello:
I've never had much luck when asking on Freecycle, though plenty of replies when I've offered stuff lol With the beds being in the garden, rather than on the plot I don't mind buying it as I want them to look decent. I don't know of any local timber places where I could ask. The only place I know that sells it is B&Q, so thought I'd ask on here if anyone knew of anywhere.0 -
B&Q almost always work out a lot more than a builders / timber merchant like say, Brooks or JP Corry. I only buy from B&Q or Homebase when I want something quickly as there opening hours are more "work friendly". And they're generally friendly, helpful places too - I used to get funny looks when I first started to go to the timber merchant near where I live 15+ years ago but noone even blinks an eye now.0
