Easy. You need 2 network cards installed into the p.c's.
You need a router with either no modem or a built in modem depending on what hardware u have already.
Some CAT5 cable.
Do u have ADSL or Cable? Do you have a USB or ethernet modem?0 -
This sounds complicated now--I've got wanadoo b/band- ADSL and the modem is connected by USB .The pc is an acerT120E and has a modem card .---where do the network cards go and how does it all hang together?T4i wrote:Easy. You need 2 network cards installed into the p.c's.

Is that one card in each pc?0 -
Yep, one card in each P.C
Some computers have them built in......If you go into control panel, network connections and see if you have a local area connection icon.
If you do, you already have the NIC installed.
NIC's are about £8 each.....
Good place to start with prices http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/

Or you could spit on me and say you want wireless technology.
Wireless is coming down in price but not as cheap as wired.
And once you are all up and running you can unplug your USB modem and use it as a door stop for the summer!0 -
hmmmm T4i don't forget to mention the option of using ICS and a cross-over cable - will save the expense of a router/adsl box as long as the ICS'ed box is on all the time .... ..... :rotfl:
I know that didn't help :rolleyes:Rich people save then spend.
Poor people spend then save what's left.0 -
or ICS
