Show us your DIY Wedding Cake

I have read a lot of threads of people doing their own wedding cakes, be it, M&S, Asda's or tescos, this is what I plan on doing.

I thought it would be nice to have a thread dedicated to the diy cakes, for people to get inspiration, tips and hints, to do it themselves.

I'm not getting married until next year so wont have any to pics to show for a while.

I too don't have my own cake to post, but have found a couple of nice ideas that I think could be created from a supermarket cake. Sorry, don't have photos...

One was just an ivory ribbon around the cake, and a big, contemporary spray of flowers on top in orange, pink and lime.

The other was in a bridal magazine, and it had an ivory ribbon with a diamante brooch on, a single orange butterfly resting on top and orange petals sprinkled at the base.

Thanks Ruthie, would never have thought of using something like a broach to decorate the cake with!
