Questions about going Bankrupt - help!!

Thanks people for all your sound advice. :T We have taken tomorrow off work so he can phone the CCCS (me there for support & soothing words!!) it happens to be his birthday but he said what better time to sort his financials out. Whatever happens we'll be having a few wine's to de-stress!!! He is pretty open minded about what is the best way forward and not sure if bankruptcy is. From what I've read on here the CCCS seem to be the best of a good bunch of people. Would they handle the IVA or bankruptcy? Or does he have to employ a solicitor for that. Sorry for all the questions but really appreciate your advice ahead of the chat with CCCS tomorrow.
He is not bothered about obtaining further credit or buying a place. He just wants a basic account for his wages to go into. I really feel for him, he has had a heck of a time of it not just with his finances but his personal/work life and if it was me I would have given up years ago.
Thanks for the note kevker about the tax code, didn't know about that. Thanks again everyone for replying, wish us luck for tomorrow! xxxOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 038 :j0
