I would think you could make a lot more than £5 per hour as a reflexologist, so £55 would be a good investment. You would have to think about premises, advertising, insurance etc.

Another thought - if you are a carer, would doing overnight care through an agency be an option to get in a bit more cash? My grandmother used to have a carer in the house overnight, and I'm sure some of them worked days as well (because she used to complain they didn't wake up when she called, but that's another story!)

    Hi Ray and welcome

I'm a big fan of reflexology - can't afford to start going again yet, but that's definitely one of my treats when I'm debt free! (She used to charge £20 per hour - that was back in '99 though!!)

My old reflexologist worked from home and clients went there (turned her dining room into a treatment room!) so could that be an option?

Also, tout around big companies - see if they'd give you permission to go in for a couple of hours doing taster sessions for their staff for 15 mins say, at a cut-price (and sell the benefits linked to well-being at work!). It's a good way for people to try it out and then hopefully you'll get some regular clients and they'll recommend you and so on.

    Good luck!!
