Electric Piano

I'm after an electric piano for my kids to learn on - preferably just a straight keyboard type that I can put on a stand. I understand that some models have weighted keys to provide the authentic real piano feel rather than just a touch keyboard. Any recommendations on a suitable model and where to buy?

Thanks.

Randal. Lots of people are getting rid of these and you should be able to find a bargain on somewhere like Ebay. Or try advertising in your local paper.
Is this the kind of thing that you were looking for?

Thanks for the info coolagarry  but not quite what I'm looking for.

We went to a music shop recently and saw an electric piano for about £500. Basically, it was just a long keyboard (about 5' long, 10" wide and 6" deep) like that off a piano (but without the piano casing etc around it) on a stand.

The good thing about it was that the keys were weighted to provide an authentic piano feel. Apparently this is good for anyone learning to play the piano because it teaches you to strike the key (like pressing a real piano key to get the hammer to strike the string) rather than just touching it (as on most electric keyboards without the 'feel' where it makes an electronic contact).

Hence, I'm trying to find out if anyone has any good recommendations for one and anywhere off the web I could possibly get one

If it doesn't have weighted keys it isn't an electric piano, it's a keyboard. You can pick them up secondhand, often kids get board of them.
