stew ok to freeze?

I got 2lb of stewing meat on offer, if I made a big beef in stout stew up would it be ok to freeze it in portions?
I want to do something with it that I can cook in one go, then portion up to freeze for when I'm not at my best. I thought a slow cooked stew in the oven would be the easiest but I'm open to other suggestions.

Sounds great. If it's just for you, make sure you portion it correctly (if necessary by putting the first lot out on a plate) and LABEL IT! This has been my great downfall in the past but now I've seen the light...

I made stew for the first time to freeze a week or so ago and did exactly this. WOrked out "My" size good stuff your face portion of soup or stew is 3 soup ladels full! (to the point of bursting!) Had some on sunday from freezer - Awesome. Enjoy.:j
