Tax Repayment - Do I get a P60 despite leaving job months ago?

Hi guys,

I'm entitled to a tax repayment. I left my job in mid-August last year, and am yet to receive a P60. Should I be expecting one from my previous employer or do I apply for a tax repayment despite not getting one?

Thanks guys,

- Joe

I believe employers give P60s to those who are working for them at the end of the tax year - which you're not. Your P45 states what you earned and what tax was deducted in that job, and that's what you use.

If your employer didn't give you a P45 when you left, do post again ...

As Savvy_Sue has said a P60 is only given to those employees who are still working for the Company at the end of the tax year and you should have got a P45 after your final salary was paid.

If you've not worked since August then you should get a tax refund - if you ring your local tax office they should be able to tell you how to go about claiming it back.

If you have been claiming JSA, the JC should have made your tax refund n your ast payment. If you are not claiiming you need to download form P50 frm www.hmrc.gov.uk and send it to your tax office with your P45. If you are claiming JSA and the JC did not make your refund, you will need to wait for your P60U from the JC and send it to your tax office requesting a refund.
