For the binoculars it really depends on what quality you're looking at and what you want to use them for. I am presuming that you are not a super keen ornithologist or you would know which the binoculars to get are (sorry if you are, I'm just guessing)! If like me you are simply someone who uses them everynow and again for birdwatching or racing then I can recommend Bushnell 8x42 nature watch. They are a good enough quality to be able to see things clearly, are lightweight and easy to use. Mine were somewhere around £60 - do a bushnell search on google. Bushnell are recommended by birdwatching magazines and as they do a huge range you could find a suitable pair - some would cost the equivalent of a samll mortgage, and then do asearch on kelkoo (pricerunner didn't bring anything up). Sorry not to more specific but without knowing what you wan tthem for and the quality that you are after it is difficult to do anything other than recommend a good make.
Most recent wins: IPad, Jamie Magazine yearbook, Links of London friendship bracelet, Baumatic ice cream machine! :j
