Combined train/bus rediced tickets in Glasgow and west scotland?

Im aware of the individual companies running reduced fares such as the firstweek tickets and suchlike. I was talking to a friend on the east coast however who mentioned you could get a ticket which covered all the major bus and train operators in the area which suited him as he had to use two different bus companies to get to his work.
Does anyone know if a similar initiative exists on the west coast at a reasonable price or will I have to carefully examine my regular routes and then purchase the individual tickets?
Cheers

The Strathclyde Zonecard sounds like it might be what you need.0

That looks good, certainly seems like the right thing. I reckon I need 6 zones and thats about the same price for 4 weeks as the one for first scotrail and the one for arriva but it covers everything else too!
Need to have a careful look at routes next methinks.
Cheers!0
