supermarket shelf edge price comparisons dodgy?

I was in Sainsbury ( Folkestone) on saturday, and saw a shelf edge sign saying £1.07 Sainsbury / £1.07 Tesco.
This was for a yoghurt that I buy. But it's one of the few things I now buy in Tesco because it's £1 a pot. I'm now wondering if they all put any price they feel like on those signs.
[Tesco online price as well...
£1.00 - (20p / 100g)
Alpro Soya Organic Natural Yofu (500g) ]
Anyway they've done me a favour because I've just seen it's now 99p in Asda

I've always wondered where the supermarkets get all these so called facts and figures from to out do each other
.I've also noticed if 1 supermarket does an offer then another will follow with a similar offer in a few weeks. So I guess it pays to shop around. I use 1 supermarket online, but won't buy anything on offer if I know we wouldn't use it, and if I know its cheaper locally.:D Grocery challenge june £300/ £211-50.
Grocery challenge july £300/£134-85.0 -
Yeh i laugh at those signs.
My Tesco is right across the road from Aldi and because of this that is what is on the sign, it is alwasy a few pence dearer than what Aldi "actually" are charging.
At the end of the day i am not that interested bacause i am not going to drive the whole way over to Asda or Tesco because it is cheaper there lol not for a few pennies anyway i will waste more in petrol.
I usually look at all the websties and press to see what is on my monthly shop and where it is on offer then i head there first to see what other bargains might be had.
I noticed of lately that several supermarkets have the same offers on and wonder if the manufactureres are setting the offers. My tesco and morrisons had about 10 exact offers then when i went to the co-op the next week the exact same offers were on lol got to be something in it for the same stuff to be the same offers........0
