They still make them exactly the same way
never heard of an un happy chef owner
even secondhand they go for a lot on ebay.:j:j:j0 -
aw thank you all of you, and doesn't that pie look awesome?!!:smileyhea
I think I'll go for the KMC560. It's working out to be £192.08 with topcashback from Dixons. I'm going to try hard to home bake - my kids are raring to go! :j0 -
another vote for the chef - i have my own after witnessing my mums last 30 years and going strong. Its a work horse of a machine and so many attatchments to covet!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Kenwoods do, except for their blinkin' kettles, I've had 2 in 5 years!

My kenwood toaster has lasted me 10 years with daily use. I have a chef and I noticed on the Rachel Allen Bake programme that although she has a kitchen aid ( probably signed some sort of contract with them), all her students in her cookery school use chefs, they had about 10 kenwood chefs in the class and K hooks hanging up around the wall.Penny xxx
Old age isn't bad when you consider the alternative.0 -
Some of the Kitchenaid/kitchenaid lookalikes are not that much more powerful than a hand mixer. You wouldn't regret going for the more robust ChefIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

My mum still has her Chef and it's now 30 years old! I've bought my own Chef and love it.:D
I was given a used CHEF by my mum 5 years ago, it will be 39 years old in July this year, it was a wedding present from my dad. She has now got the all singing, all dancing newer model.
I think you can still buy replacement parts for it (hopefully i wont need to find out in the near future) and all the attachments made for the newer machines will fit ( I think).
I use it 3-4 times a week for cakes, pasteries and bread dough.
