Personally I think banks are going to have to change there attitude to wards bankrupts, as there are so many people going bankrupt
if they close there accounts then they will have less customers

I wouldn't count on it - they don't really earn anything out of us anyway since we won't be stashing high balances with them for them to invest - in fact the only money they're likely to make out of us will be when we use our debit cards, when they'll get a small cut from the retailers.

But I guess stranger things have happened :)

I wouldn't mind but if it hadn't been for the Tax Payers, they would have had to go BR

I have just bought a Paypal Visa Debit card.

Its cost £4.95 and will cost the same when it expires and I need to replace it. There are no monthly fees and no transactions fees in the UK. And if you top-up via Paypal, there are no fees there either.

Just to let you know, this is not as advertised a Paypal Visa Debit card, it is actually a Paypal Visa ELECTRON card.

Miffed as I have an Electron.....

Ah well. I guess I can stash my savings and hide them from OH in there!

Paypal can at any point freeze your account and give no reason and they can hold money for up to 6 months before they have to release it. Take it from experience, do not keep funds lying around in paypal accounts!

Co op closed my smart saver account when I went bankrupt, but then let me open a cash ISA 3 months later.
I use this as my savings account and it is great cos i can do instant transfers between the two accounts online.

Thank you for your recent application for a Cash ISA. Unfortunately, after careful consideration we are unable to open the account you requested.

Ive got nationwide E savings, was getting about 6% interest but now something pathetic like 0.5 or 0.75. Was getting £300 or so interest per year and now it is just crap lol
