    Agree...
If you are doing it as "self-employed" and you are not on their payroll, this is a fraud and you can be in a big trouble...

You assume wrong. This is another source of income, if it's on a self-employed basis you need to register with HMRC.

If it is another employment, are they deducting tax?

I assumed the club was paying the tax before paying me. I really need to make sure.

Does the club give you payslips? Do you give them invoices?

If you want rebates, you need to play the game by the rules, have formal arrangements in writing with people you work for, establish the basis on which you work for them - employee on PAYE, Sole Trader or Registered Company - and preserve evidence of when and how you were paid, Net or Gross.

    Hi

Before this permenant job I worked on a short contract for 3 months and my tax code was 603LM1. Prior to this I was on job seeker's allowance for 4/5 months.

I also ocassionally dj on the weekend, which brings in £250/£400 a month. This is paid by cheque so i'm assuming the tax man does not see this as another job/income? I know I should declare it just haven't got round to it.

Please tell me you weren't doing these two simultaneously.
