We are starting camping again, but need all the equipment,eg heaters, air beds etc, could someone please let us know where is the best place to buy what we need, and give us some places to try, thanks. We did have a touring caravan, but camping with a tent is cheaper to stay at some places. Thanks.:j

We got a great deal at Halfords, Boucher road, last year.
1/2 price which was then £100 for 4 man tent, 4 sleeping bags, torch, plus 2 double air beds.
    Tent was good quality.
Got this in spring time last year but you might get a better deal with the credit crunch & less people spending.

The place in Banbridge is probably Downshire camping, just up from Lidl. Good range of tents and associated stuff.

What about the Scout Shop - "The Scout Shop Camp & Ski Centre" 12-14 College Sq. East, Belfast.

  • Argos is vry reasonable, and even more so if you were to wait until nearer the end of the season.
  • TK Maxx had a lot of camping equipment when I was in last week. I got a 3-season sleeping bag reduced from £36.99 to £14.99. They also had air beds, roll-out mats, torches, sleeping bag liners, and lots of other bits and pieces

Halfords have the offer for tent air beds and sleeping bags and torches at minute for £120. They had stock in Lisburn yesterday. Might be worth a look.
2p or not 2p? That is the question!

If you are anywhere near Derry, House of Value is worth a look
  • there is plenty of wesites online at the moment trying to capitalise on the economic climate and expecting many holiday makers to take their holidays at home this year. As a result fierce competition between these websites has lowered prices of camping equipment. My advice would be to trawl the web for batgains.
