I'll try to keep this as short as possible to get to the point, although there are many issues I like to air about CSA.
Can anyone help me where and what to do next.
My son who's 16 and in full time ed....his father moved to Denmark and stopped paying for our son last year. We've never had a formal agreement through CSA or courts. Can I get an assessment for past 14 years? Can I do anything? He works for Danish company not British.
My daughter who's 7....her father hasn't paid a penny. Went through CSA when she was born. He's only seen her a few times the last when she was 2. He quit his job when CSA contacted him. CSA said they'd take pound a week that was 3 years ago I haven't had a penny. CSA sold debt to enforcement company and now say its nothing to do with then? Can I do anything?
I'm still a single parent and work to support my children.
Please help!!!

CSA don't sell debt but they can pass over the debt to a collections agency - they can request it back again though. You can't claim anything from the first father though unless you go through REMO if Denmark is part of their remit and you won't get arrears.
I would be asking for a new assessment on your second ex as they can reassess if his circumstances have changed.0 -
I have looked into REMO and they do cover Denmark. But I was told I need to have a court order in place for REMO to act on it? How can I get a court order with out an assessment from CSA? Is this possible? He asked me not to use CSA when we first split over 14 years ago which I though was fair enough as they had such a bad rep (still do) I supported him when he wanted to re train and quit his job.....I supported his decision to move to Denmark....I supported him by taking our son to Heathrow from South Wales to see his Dad..... He paid us 200 a month which I was perfectly happy with up til then (and still would be)......Now he's earning in excess of 100k he's told us to do a jump. quote" I think I've been fair for all of his (our son) life CSA can't touch me now" which compared to the other father....I can't disagree. But our son dosn't just stop existing when he decides!
As for other waste of space.....he quit his job...I know he is working....I'm thinking of hiring a PI...to submit evidence to DSS as they don't seem bothered.
He has other children whom he see's on a regular basis his new partner has 2 with him....he buys then anything they want. Yet all I asked for was my daughter to have a daddy......he refused her that.0 -
Hello, I am not sure if this will be helpful, as I see you posted in April. I have applied for a REMO as ex has moved to Germany, and you are lucky he has at least told you to jump! I've had NO COMMUNICATION with my ex. Mine also earns in excess of 100K (or did at last CSA assessment).
You do not need a CSA assessment from this country as the courts in Denmark will decide how much he is to pay based on his salary/other factors.
I'm sorry for you, I know how frustrating this is, I'm there myself and have been since last August, although I didn't file for REMO till Nov, as I didn't know about it, and CSA didn't mention it as a possible route, duh.
I would definately go for the REMO. Its just a form to fill in, then a couple hours spent in the Magistrate court to swear your paper work is correct, etc.
I'm not 100% convinced that I will get anything from the German courts, as I haven't heard any other success stories yet, and the Magistrate court contacts say they 'don't know'. Its been some months, and I just keep hoping that eventually the German authorities will take fathers who chuck their children financially (and in my case emothionally) seriously, and he will be made to pay.
Its cost me nothing, and if it causes him some agro, I'd be thrilled.
You have nothing to lose! Go for it.
Hope this helps

REMO cases....
How unhelpful to those of us out there in impossible situations....shake your head all you want.
REMO - someone to stand up for my daughter and make sure that both parents pay for her upbringing, and if he is caused grief as a result of walking away from supporting his child....great.
Keep your judgements to yourself, I'm here to be helpful to others and seek help - what are you here for?0 -
Zara- the whole point is that the ex can't forget their responsibilities so if it reminds them of this fact, then it is worth doing. That is certainly my attitude - even if my ex doesn't pay, the fact that he is being constantly reminded of his daughter via the CSA correspondence is a positive thing.0

Well i guess some people hav more stamina than others...coz at this moment in time i really couldn't give a flying fig whether my NRP fell down a great big black hole, I'm sick and tired of the constant battles time and time again for whatkelloggs36 wrote: »Zara- the whole point is that the ex can't forget their responsibilities so if it reminds them of this fact, then it is worth doing.
