Hi,
I am moving next week into rented accomodation and as such they do not have a cooker. However they do have a microwave which is a combination oven. I have never used a microwave as an oven before as I have never needed to ( moving from a 3 bed house to a bedsit.... dont ask )
What good meals can you create with the grill / oven microwave? any suggestions?
I do have a steamer and am thinking of getting a slow cooker but I do not have much space. I like to cook tuna pasta bake, Pies, frozen breaded fish and a bit of baking.
If anyone can help would be appreciated.

We have a combi oven, they're great, works just like an ordinary oven, but bit smaller (and economical)
Home-made pizza, pasta bakes, jacket potatoes, meat etc. all turn out as expected.
I'd be boiling a kettle of water to cook fresh pasta - much quicker than dried, and easier with you not having a hob.
You can do soups, beans etc. in the microwave oven, so you won't need a hob for that.
Coming into summer it's salad time, so might not be so bad!Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Get a Two Hob Electric Boiling Ring as well!

(might be cheaper elsewhere?)

Combi ovens are just the same as an ordinary oven if you want them to be. Mine is a microwave, oven and grill. You can use every part individually or double up - ie use micro power along with conventional oven so every thing is done quicker and tasts good - ie pastry and chips crisp, jacket spuds get a good skin etc
Ours is used by my mum every day as she tends to buy convienience foods more then me such as pies, breaded fish, pizzas , frozen chips etc.
You more then likely can download a manual if you search the model - will give cooking times and guides0
