I've decided I must be fick....you might as well all be talking Swahili or summink coz I havent a clue what any of you are on about.
Maybe I'm just not cut out for this MB mullarkey.
Just keep reading over the intro writing it down as you go along. Try and find some peace and quiet and take it a line at a time. Understand each line before you move on.0 -

Also, if I could 'have my time again', I'd try and maximise each offer as much as possible. I got really impatient (still do) and take crap odds for a quick turnaround. The problem with this is you end up hundreds of £'s less than what you could make over time.
Also, make sure you research that you are getting the best offers, and have the Betfair float to cover them. I did BetFred far too early without enough money in Betfair and got about £30 back from a £200 SNR!
Don't know if you've seen it but this site/page is good for seeing what the best offers have been.

And this is a good site that will show you some of the best matches for each bookie. Best for SR's and qualifiers.

Thanks for that. I think that Jaxx £25 is about the best that they offer usually. It looks like I am just going to have to wait for a really good match over 7 and cough up with some more reddies into the Betfair account.
I am keeping my eye on the GOIL thread for new offers and think that 1 a week will be enough for me until I get my confidence.
Thanks again SS you are an :ABut these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

In fact if I am honest I don't really understand any of it.
.
I've had a look at the answer you received and although right , it is a bit concise.
If you break match betting into separate parts it can make is easier to understand .
The first thing you are trying to do is get your free bet.
Which is where the searching out the offer comes in and doing the "qualifier"
something like " Place a £10 bet and receive a free £10 bet .
this part you are trying to lose as little as possible in qualifying so a close match is what is needed, just making sure that any minimum odds that would stop you qualifying are not part of the bet placed ..The thing is lower odds are more often the easiest to find as a close match ..
So lest say it is a good day .
you find a perfect match and only lose 50 p of this £10 bet ...
So far down 50 p ...not good ..but you have a free bet of £10 ...so good
...Maybe
If it is a £10 bet with the stake returned ,it is good ,..You find another match just like the first and reel in £9.00 profit overall .
Only most bets aren't that simple ..The bookie gives you £10 ..lets you bet ..if you lose he takes the money back ...If you win ..He still takes his £10 back and just gives you the rest.
There is lots of maths that I wouldn't dare explain ..As I can't...But it works out that high odds allow you to get a much better return off the bet than low odds ...So using the same bet as before may only return you half of the £10 yet doing a bet at say 10 to 1 may bring in £8.00 ...You still need to find close or perfect matches ...You need more cash at the exchange to lay off the higher bets ...but the odds say you should win more times at the exchange than the bookie ...Which the bookie likes
