i went pop in october 2008, as i am not working and have no assets my court reciever wrote to me and all my creditors saying there is no point having a meeting to discuss options avaliable to them getting anything off me as i now and in near future dont have any. then they said that they are dropping me aswell. they took the money 1800 for there services (20 letters and a 5 minute phonecall) and now no longer act as my reciever, they told me im on my own, but not discharged from bankruptcy!
so my query is can i see about getting discharged earlier then 0ctober 2009?
and who do i talk to about changes in my employment when i take a job offer?
any help will be appreciated
thanks
dan

Do you mean that you have had a letter saying that the Official Receiver has "applied for their release as trustee"?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

It means that the OR has for most practical concerns finished investigating your affairs.
They can then take this legal step that allows them to wrap most of the legal stuff and paperwork up.
They will still deal with most routine matters though.
For example, you must still tell them if your income increases before you are discharged. Or if a creditor you forgot about pops up, and anything else like that.
They may or may not put you up for "Early Discharge", but that is up to them. You can't ask/apply for that yourself. Just consider it a bonus if it happens.
So it is all pretty routine, and not something to be concerned about. If you have any problems you can still contact them about it.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Just had a phone call from my other half saying a letter has come from our OR saying I have been granted early discharge on 31/3/2009 ( went BR 3/10/08) but not him.
Does this mean they cannot now impose an income payment arrangement?
We have had none imposed so far and I have informed OR of a bonus I got on 23/3 but not been asked for it yet.
Bit of a bolt out of the blue as totally unexpected
Any help greatly appreciated

Yep. An IPA/O can only be set up while you are undischarged.
Congrats on the ED.

Normally they send a letter proposing an early discharge to you and your creditors. (sometimes creditors object so you have to sit out your 12 months)
The OR has a time frame to deal with assets, I don't know whether that includes your bonus.
They shouldn't impose an IPA after discharge I would have thought.

Crikey, this is great news, been nervously holding onto the money in the hope the OR wouldn't take all of it as car Mot for us is due in a month and know it's gonna cost at least £200/£300.
Cannot believe 6 months has gone so fast and am a bit blown away by the ED .
You always have that sneaky feeling that a brick is going to hit you in the face as something crops up and this is fab news while I am at work.
Will definitely go and get some wine for tonight to celebrate!
Thanks0 -

Oh. Must have misread that? If you received it before discharge you will still have to check with the OR.
I thought you meant that you had told them about a bonus that you were due to receive, but hadn't been paid yet.
An IPA is still out of the question though.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
