whats a cheap alternative to sambuca

i just love this stuff, but its soooo expensive.
any ideas on a cheaper alternative..

    I would try leaving aniseed balls and liquorice in a bottle of vodka. Probably also a load of sugar because sambucca's really syrupy.

    wow, now i look at that webpage i wasn't too far off :) good luck!

    ps. I thought it was a sign of my childhood slipping away after my first year at uni when eating liquorice allsorts reminded me of sambucca rather than the other way round.
