Hi all! hope everyone is well.
I got talking to a woman at work today, we got talking about bank accounts and she didn't have one at all - the reason she told me was that she had just been discharged from being bankrupt and was now looking to get an account. But my employer being the bank they are  probably would have told her no..... so I pointed her in the direction of the coop or barclays! Probably didn't sound good me telling her to go to another bank but I didn't see why she should go through the process of applying with my employer only to probably get turned down whereas coop or barclays will accept her business.
When she said, I just been discharged, I had to stop myself blurting out, "yes that's what I am looking forward to"!!:rotfl:Given that no one at my work knows about my BR, that would have set the cat amongst the pigeons and the rumours flying about!
I just thought it was interesting that she probably never knew that she could have a bank account even whilst undischarged which is a shame really that people don't get given more information about what their options are.
anyway, just my random thoughts!probably best ignored!!

Yes, Donna, a lot of people don't know they can have bank account etc. It is only through forums like this that they find out all this information. I don't know what situation I'd be in now if I hadn't found MSE.
