  • Well the deed is done and the purse is empty

EHTB is peeing me off, nothing new there! He said two days ago he will pay my maintenance tomorrow, today he said, he's not sure if he can.
Text him an hour ago to ask if he knows for sure, said he'd get back to me in ten minutes

He's probably in the pub spending it

I am not sure where to post this - and the main board is definately not right. But some of you are friends and you need to know that my Nan died this afternoon.

My Nan was a very important part of my childhood and a very important part of who I am today. More so than my Dad actually. A very special and immensely strong woman who's life was recently blighted by dementia and disability - I am relieved in a way that she is no longer a victim of the restrictions her body placed on her.

She never had much money (both my Nan and Grandad were 'in service' so were paid a pittance), but oddly, she never seemed to worry about it either. It says it all that she left enough for her funeral in a building society account. Life was much more about the joy of taking the dog for a walk and enjoying the daffodils, or preparing a good meal that the family came back for seconds (and thirds) for.

The world is a smaller place today for losing her. But that is, well and truly, life.

    God bless my Nan.

And please forgive me if I am a bit quiet or a bit grumpy for the next few weeks.

    Jim

Pants to Nans dying cos they are always characters. My nan died 18 years ago and i still miss here. She too was in service and had many a tale to tell and a housework tip. Chin up Jim, she wont be forgotten

Well I need a strong drink - not my usual alcohol free lager!! Had a !!!!!! day at work (had to take notes for a disciplinary) and it was mega busy as well - not sleeping well either (or rather putting off going to bed) so shattered on top of everything else. Don't do whisky so single malts out, any other suggestions?
