I have searched the site, but cannot find this already posted. Forgive me as this is a seriously daft question which I am sure I should know ??
I did a trial run to make coloured eggs for the kids for tomorrow morning. I just assumed you put the food colouring in the pot with water and boil the eggs in there  Well I did using green food colouring - and nothing happened to the eggs - not even a hint of green...... What should I be doing as obviously i have done something wrong.... I used a capful of colouring to normal amount of boiling water - the water was very very green so why werent the eggs?

I used to do mine with boiled onion skins (you can use yellow or red) which dye the eggs a lovely rich colour
