I hate Mondays!

Options
Just a bit of a rant but hopefully someone might be able to help, after burning myself ironing my BFs £80 shirt ( how can a shirt cost £80!!!!!!) this morning I opened the new council tax bill only to find out that they are still charging us as though I was a student! So its single occupancy and 25% discount! So now i have to call them up and inform them that i am now finished frittering all my pennies away at uni and ready (but not very willing) to hand over more of my hard earned to mr tax man. Do you think i'll have to pay back payments to July, when I finished being a 'student'?

Plus also realised that to my shock horror I'd failed to include one of my biggest expenses a month into my master plan ... petrol! Cant believe I've been soooooo stupid! So any more newbie money savers out there, remember to add up the cost of fuel

At least it proves one thing... my little budgeting tool of us each having an envelope of cash to spend this month (once its gone, its gone style) actually showed me something I didnt know!

But why always on a Monday do these things have to come along!!!!

I find it's not just Mondays!!! These things come along like buses...none for ages then loads at once!!

I'm with the envelope of cash idea although I do it weekly to ensure I still have some cash on the last week before payday.

Sorry to hear you've had a bad day!! Mondays have a habit of being like that for me too!!
With respect to your council tax when you contact them to advise of a change they do usually ask when the changes happened, if so I would guess you would be obliged to tell them but if they dont ask?? ;)
Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!

  • Don't beat yourself up over the petrol, as a newbie there are sure to be a few things pop up that you haven't noticed before. The important thing is now you know exactly how much the petrol is costing you. Don't worry, no one is perfect, even after you've been doing it awhile!

Take care, this is just a speed bump in your debt free road. Sure it jolts you a little, but you're better off for it, really.

I find things pop up when my circumstances change. Then just when I've got back on the straight and narrow they change again.

Just ring them up and tell them, you could tell them any date you wanted if they asked I doubt they would check it. They took my word for it when I told them about moving into my sisters but I must have an honest face or something cos I seem to get away with murder most of the time.
