You know it has been deposited wrongly so it would be theft. They will eventually realise their mistake and ask for it. More brownie points if you get in touch first.

How are you going to feel in south Asia when they reclaim the money and you are in deep Sh$t?

Do not even think about trying it on. You will suffer.

Someone could be depending on that money being paid into their account, the paper trail is easy enough for the bank to follow.
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional
  • If they want it back they are going to have to ask your permission to have it paid back as a CHAPS is cleared funds. However big the company is there is still a moral/ethical question that only you can answer.

i would recommend you dont touch it. You should contact your bank again to register that you do not believe you should have received this and you could let them contact the company. If you know for sure its not yours, you can never spend it guilt free.
