PX200s are available here for £25.92 + delivery:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/tg/detail/offer-listing/-/B0000E1O81/all/202-0406664-9228665
They're from the seller 'discountdiscs' (who sell them for a few quid more on their own website). I bought some a month or so ago & they arrived really quickly with no problems.
The PX100s are 'open back' & only really suitable for using in the house (please don't wear them on my bus!).0 -
Oooh no, I just ordered the PX100 for hubby to use on the plane with his portable DVD after a recommendation yesterday, will they be OK do you think or shall I cancel?0
-
NellieA - The Px100's are fine for use on a plane, train or bus.
Don't worry about the yogurt knitting vegetarian freaks that if they try very hard can just about hear something coming from your headphones.
It's public transport, not a library. Perhaps they should ask the Pilot's or Driver's to turn the engines off as they are sure they can hear something.
I have used my PX100's all the way to Bali and back recently and they were excellent clear sound. Your husband will be very pleased.
Why would I want to use headphones in my house ??? I want to hear my music in every room as I walk around. Very strange comment.0 -
Cheers Nesima, I'll stick with those ones. He will use them in the house as well but mainly so he can watch his DVDs in peace!0

Sorry NellieA just realised you've put that he's got a portable DVD player, so ignore the rest of this message. But thought I'd leave this info in incase anyone else is thinking of buying them for use in the house.
NellieA,
I don't want to discourage you from buying these headphones, because they are very good. But they are designed for portable use i.e portable cd player, mp3 player, minidisc player, not really for indoor use.
The headphones are more than capable of producing excellent sound, but the cable isn't really designed for laying back on the sofa, miles from the TV/amplifier. If your husband views films sat next to a laptop, then they're great and quite comfortable over long periods, but if he is more than 1.4m (I think - someone tell me if I'm wrong) from where he plugs them in, then they won't reach.
You could still purchase the headphones and then get the cable extended by a professional, I'm told the cost is quite reasonable, but don't quote me on that!
If that's too much faffing I suggest you get another pair that's designed for indoor use i.e. longer cable.
Hope that's of help

Thanks everyone, they will be fine, he's also got the proper sony for home, but these are just a more practical size for the plane.0

If you look around for reviews.
The reviewers actually state that they prefer the PX100's to the PX200's
Have a look around in google

I knew I should've posted this http://www.dansdata.com/3senns.htm
Someone on Hotukdeals tried to debunk PX100's superiority, claiming the noise these generated in public made you the"tssh tssh tssh tssh tssh tssh tssh" person annoying everyone on the bus if you have your iPod or whatever too loud. They are better for home use.
My response to this was that PX100's do not suffer this malady as much as some entry level phones due to their incredible bass. They are also highly efficient requiring less volume and that the close-back PX200's also have less bass.
I also got PX100 phones with a subscription offer Whathifi did approximately a year ago. Great phones!
I Only wish Sennheiser made Hifi/AV speakers! That's how good I think the sound integration is. My Sony !!!!!s @ work were  the difference the PX100's made.0 -
